It is better than the universities, because the Kaplan teach using industry practitioners rather than only academics and therefore their subjects have a more practical bias. Their courses are recognised academically and in the industry.
You should then continue to read on the markets, because you will find investment to be a life-long learning process. Reading widely is the best way to absorb the history, a perspective on the essential task and the alternative approaches that are possible.
