Where can I get a list of the stocks in an S&P/ASX index?
On the S&P website.
The easiest way to get to the right page is to go to www.asx.com.au.
Click on Prices, Research and Announcements
Click on Indices
Under Indices Overview, click on S&P/ASX Indices Section
Click on S&P/ASXnnn Index, where nnn is the index you want
Click on Constituent List
Click on Download Table. Follow the instructions on-screen
S&P make the list available, but they do not disclose the weightings or the method of calculation, which are proprietary.
