The date is usually published in each magazine. For example, on page 10 of July Shares, it says that August Shares will go on sale on July 16. I only comment on specific stocks very occasionally in Shares. The editor sometimes asks me to pick a stock for the year, or something similar, along with other writers. Mostly, I write educational articles. I discuss two stocks each week in BRW, which is published every Thursday.

Your intention to get in early is alright with me, if you are doing your own research or seeking professional advice. The most dangerous thing you could do is to just blindly buy any stock I mention in a Shares article or BRW column. In the case of educational articles, these are examples illustrating theory and are never intended to be recommendations to anyone. In the case of pick of the year stocks, these are intended to be no more than interesting ideas. The same applies to stocks I mention in BRW columns. I find and talk about interesting charts. No more. The rest is up to you.

I may own such a stock myself, but this is not something that should be interpreted as being relevant to a current buying decision. My investment plan may be quite different to your investment or trading plan. This is because everyone is different and has different experience, attitudes, values, risk tolerance and personality. Any time I write about a stock it is simply to highlight an interesting chart. In other words it is a starting point for you to initiate your own research and decision making process.
