Ask Colin

With growth stocks that are making new highs I sometimes find it hard to tell where the previous higher low is to determine where my new stop should be. If the daily chart is confusing will the weekly chart make it clearer?

Yes. In my medium term time frame, I want to be able to see a wide trading range on a weekly bar chart. A year at least, more if possible. So, look for the lows in the trading range on the weekly chart.

After the stock begins to trend, you could also use the weekly chart. It ensures that you are still working in the right time frame and have not slipped into the temptation to watch every little daily move
