Is there a second hand market in charting software?

It is perfectly legal to buy software from someone, providing the person you buy it from ceases to run it on their computer. You should have that person notify the manufacturer of the software so that your ownership can be properly registered. In many cases it will only run on your computer for a trial period without you registering it and you will need to be registered to get access to support and notification of upgrades.

There is no organised market that I am aware of. However, second hand sales do take place all the time as described above. It has been suggested to me that you advertise that you want to buy a second hand copy on relevant discussion group web sites and even the auction web sites.
