Ask Colin

Aren't peaks and troughs quite subjective?

Yes and no.

They take experience. It takes years of practice to build up. The longer you work at it the easier it gets.

I do not resile from the subjectivity - that is my edge over the beginners. I teach them and hope they all become proficient in the theory. However, experience has to be acquired over time, I cannot just pour it into my studnets' heads somehow.

It is also true that some charts are easier to read than others. That is where the stock market gives an advantage. You can just pass by the hard ones and trade the easier ones.
